When the murder of Matthew
Shepard, a gay college student in Laramie, made the headlines, the
entire nation passed judgment on a small Wyoming town. Although the media hype ran rampant, the reactions of the people of Laramie were largely overlooked. That is, until The Tectonic Theatre Company journeyed to Wyoming and conducted hundreds of hours of taped interviews and extracted a profile of the community that not only reflects the myriad reactions of the people of Laramie, but also speaks volumes about our reactions as a nation.
