Geoffrey Nelson stars in Rickey, a one-man show about Ohio baseball legend, Branch Rickey.
Rickey is the life story of the Ohio native who went on to become one of baseball’s greatest (and most colorful) managers. From the 1920s to the 1950s, Branch Rickey invented the farm team system, managed the champion St. Louis Cardinals (known as the “gas house gang”) and integrated major league baseball when he signed Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rickey was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967, and in July 1999, ESPN selected him as the most influential sports figure of the 20th century.
