Who’s the Playwright?

David Sedaris

David Sedaris is a bestselling author, humorist, comedian and radio contributor. He first became publicly recognized in 1992 when National Public Radio broadcast his essay The Santaland Diaries. His collections of essays and short stories have all become New York Times best sellers, collectively selling more than seven million copies. Much of his humor, including The Santaland Diaries, is autobiographical and concerns his family life, middle class upbringing in Raleigh, North Carolina, various jobs and his education. His body of work includes Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and When You Are Engulfed in Flames. In 2006 and 2007, Sedaris made sold-out appearances at the Palace Theatre in downtown Columbus.
