Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Franklin County, the City of Columbus has notified us that CPAC will be closed to the public until restrictions are lifted.
Effective January 1, 2021, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) will assume management of the building for outside rentals.
The Shedd Theatre is currently out of commission due to structural roof issues. Repair and/or renovation options for the building are under consideration and study by the City; however, a decision regarding the path forward is unclear. The Shedd will remain out of commission for use by performing arts organizations, as CRPD will repurpose a large portion of CPAC as a new, temporary residence for another CRPD arts program, the Golden Hobby Shop.
CRPD intends to continue making the Van Fleet theatre available for recording/streaming projects until it is safe to return to in-person, live events. After January 1, 2021, all rentals of the space will be facilitated by CRPD. You may contact Geoffrey Martin, Arts Administrator for CPRD at GAMartin@columbus.gov with questions.
If you have a reservation to use the Shedd and/or the Van Fleet in 2021, all reservations will be cancelled, and your deposit refunded by CATCO.
You may contact Caroline Dittamo, CPAC Facility Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org with specific questions regarding any current rental reservations. And, contact Geoffrey Martin at CPRD about future use of the building in 2021 and beyond.
