REFUND POLICY

CATCO is Kids is waiving the $25 registration fee for virtual camp offerings this summer; however, all tuition sales are final unless minimum enrollment is not reached, in which case, that particular session will be cancelled, and refunds (whether full or prorated based on purchased camp package) will be issued.

AGES 8-12

Each week covers a different theme and will end with a short showcase or presentation of what the students worked on or created throughout the week.  This showcase or presentation will be recorded via Zoom and shared with registrants at a later date. Thank you for your patience as we have navigated through our options to provide the best theatre education experience possible in a new format.

June 29-July 3, 2020

Working with industry professionals, students will learn the basics of story building, create a class play, and discover the triumphs and challenges of playwriting.

July 20-24, 2020

Hilarity is bound to ensue in this class where students will learn the rules and comedic strategies of improvisation.

July 27-31, 2020

The worlds of heroes and villains collide in this camp where students will learn original choreography and explore the excitement of acting through scenes inspired by the Disney’s Descendants films.

August 3-7, 2020

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we invite you to learn original choreography and learn the basics of acting through scenes inspired by Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

August 10-14, 2020

There’s a lot more to theatre than acting on a stage.  In this camp, students will learn the fundamentals of stagecraft by exploring set design, lighting, costuming, props, and other areas that bring a play to life!

August 17-21, 2020

If you have been waiting for your letter from a particular school of magic, wait no longer! Students will explore acting through the wizarding world’s untold stories in this spellbinding camp.

TWO-WEEK VIRTUAL TEEN INTENSIVE

In this two-week intensive program, middle and high school students will gain the skills they need to be well-rounded performers and succeed in the audition room and on stage. Students will receive individual monologue coaching, vocal coaching, dance fundamentals training, and will participate in one combined production number from a recent Broadway hit! Students will also have sessions with guest industry professionals on a variety of topics such as self-taping. CATCO will record student monologues, songs, and choreography to create a virtual showcase that will be shared with parents and students at a later date. Students will leave this camp with an audition package ready for use and audition footage that can be used in the future as a filmed audition package. Students will work with Artist Educators Que Jones, Heidi Kok, and Krista Stauffer.

VIRTUAL PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP

In this new and exciting program, students will explore the new territory of creating plays for the Virtual platform. This program will prepare the young artists of today for the theatre world of tomorrow. While we encourage students to sign up for both sections, the workshop is split into two parts.

Ages: 10-15
Cost: $250 per part, or $350 for both parts

August 3-6; August 10-14

  • Week 1 – Mon-Thurs from 6:00 – 8:00pm
  • Week 2 – Mon-Fri from 6:00 – 8:00pm

Collaborate with professional artists and your peers to create a group play written for the new Virtual Theatre platform.

August 17-20; August 24-28

  • Week 1 – Mon-Thurs from 6:00 – 8:00pm
  • Week 2 – Mon-Fri from 6:00 – 8:00pm

Alongside industry professionals, students will audition, rehearse, and perform the virtual play created during Virtual Play Creation Part 1. Performances will be recorded, edited together, and premiered at a later date.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON ANTICS

It’s time to cause some family drama. Well, the good kind anyway.  Each Saturday Afternoon Antics is a stand-alone session that offers 60 minutes of fun designed for the whole family, and we really do want kids and adults alike to share in the fun! These sessions are best suited for students from 5 to 105.

Cost: $50 per household
Length: 60 minutes each

In these energetic sessions, the whole family will play theatre game after theatre game and learn the 5 Tools of the Actor. Each session will follow similar curriculum.

The entire family will get moving with these sessions focused on Musical Theatre Choreography. CATCO is Kids presents these virtual sessions in collaboration with Hixon Dance. Each session will use a different hit musical song!

In these gut-busting sessions, the whole family will learn how to play improv games and spend the hour laughing together. Each session will follow similar curriculum.
